A Bright Light & The Dark Side

This image makes me want to paint something BRIGHT....
Although while looking on West Elm I was drawn back to the dark side...this rug is on my short list...hmmm, so is that lumbar pillow...and the far side table too...
And I love this light even more in gray....I just can't help myself!
Love this room, the whole look, very cool light...
All images West Elm

I Wonder...

If this chair is comfortable...
If this is cute in person, love the cord...
Which one of my clients could use one of these.
If need some grey zebra crewel in my house...maybe a rug or a pillow...

If West Elm was thinking of me when they made this chair.....
How long I would have to save my pennies to have a set of these....
If I need one of these....
Have a great weekend! I hope to have some of my finished projects from 2009 to show you starting next week.

Out and About

Just some things I spotted out and about while shopping for clients. This first piece is actually 4 REALLY old corbels attached on the back to make an almost cross-like architectural piece. It was love at first sight. Unfortunately, it did not work for my client and it is not in my budget. However, one day I am going to replicate this.....What is it with animal heads? My FRIEND must be contagious...
The head and these horses are from Z Gallerie. I have wanted these for a WHILE, but now in this green color I want one even more. Once again, I can't explain it...
Saw these paintings in an antique store, very similiar to my true love Hyche
These barley twist tables are classic and multi-functional...

Something about these chairs and the next one grabbed me. Maybe it was the GREAT price, or my love of tufting. Definitely in need of a good reupholster.
The suitcases made me smile because the initials on them are "RAT". Not sure how I feel about the light fixture.

LOVE! You should be mine. I could be so organized!
I have a thing for "Cane" furniture, don't know why...
Once again, is it the price? The tufting? I can't explain, I just heard it call my name as I walked by.
Narrow tables like this one are hard to find but so useful.
Random: Love these sheers from West Elm and the table from Target you have seen on here before, but now it is on clearance. How many times a day must I remind myself that clearance/sale is still not free!

So many good deals, so little funds...

Where It All Began....

You know I LOVE West Elm, but you don't know the history of this love affair. Our story begins many years ago in a land far, far away.....Morocco. Well not really Morocco that is just wishful thinking. However, something Moroccan was involved, this relationship all started with a rug, the Moroccan Window Rug to be exact.I am BEGGING them to bring them back, please, please, please. Until that happens though I can be content with some of the others....
This zig zag rug may belong to me one day. I am dying to do a big graphic rug somewhere, especially after seeing La Dolce Vita yesterday.

I am still undecided about the rug on the left, opinions? I do like the one on the right though, although it is still no Moroccan....

West Elm's rug on the right reminds a little of this rug I saw at market that I adored.

And one for the nature lovers (like myself), this room is so happy.

Happy Friday, I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend.

West Elm + Sale = One Happy Decorator

You will find that I have a minor obsession with West Elm. In fact, it is safe to say that I love Love LOVE West Elm. I just received the new catalogue so I am sure this will not be the only post in the next few days on W.E. So without further adieu here are just some of the sale items up for grabs..
RUGS: (one of my favorite home items)
If I had $10 for every one of these rugs I have put in a clients home then those Frye boots (see previous post) would have been mine a long time ago.

Seriously though, they are a GREAT deal and very versatile. The rugs work and look different in every house- runners, as a main rug, under a smaller area rug, kitchens, you name it. This is the only product I use over and over in homes.

Zebra, got to love it-

Geometric - a quality always high on my list

How cute would this be in a nursery?

Be sure to check out the bedding, accessories, and furniture-

Designed for summer use but would work well as Holiday decor too

Pop in a paper white and some stones and you have an instant way to brighten your day (or someone else's)

And last but not least....
I have this headboard - in another color- and it is one my favorite things I own. I never want to change it out (virtually impossible for a decorator) and so many people have complimented it.....@ $189 for a king you need one too.
