Start Spreading The News....

I am leaving today for...to see this guy, which you might remember from here, here or here.
Tuesday he will be taping a show that will feature an audience of all design bloggers and I thrilled to be included in this group.
Since I had a plus one I decided to take another very dapper man...my Dad. Not only does he love design but we always have a good time in New York together.
So I will leave you with some images from my bf Nate....
And I know I have posted about this little one before but I still want it...
A client and I were looking at this the other day...we are still debating...
I think this rug could be pretty cool too...
I will share with you how it all went later in the week when I get back south.

A Bright Light & The Dark Side

This image makes me want to paint something BRIGHT....
Although while looking on West Elm I was drawn back to the dark side...this rug is on my short list...hmmm, so is that lumbar pillow...and the far side table too...
And I love this light even more in gray....I just can't help myself!
Love this room, the whole look, very cool light...

If You Ever Need To Buy Me A Gift....(A Big Gift That Is)

Wisteria is without a doubt one of my favorite catalogs to get. I am completely enamored with their furniture and accessories. This piece has long been a favorite of mine, one day they will stop carrying it and it will become "the piece that got away".So, I was not surprised when I saw this sofa on The Newlywed Diaries and I almost fell out of my chair, I was stunned by love at first sight.
This sofa screams MARIANNE, it is so me. So I decided to go visit my old friend and see what was new. This type of furniture is my favorite, raw, aged, natural fabrics, limed. Tufted ottoman, I could use you in so many houses I am working on. Bright orange chair, I could use you in my dining room.
Yes, yes, yes. These twin headboards are to die for, not too shabby pushed together either....

These candle holders look very similiar to other ones that are out there, but they are actually made of oyster shells.
Just a fun pillow, harder to find than you may think.
This reminds me of a rug from Ikea that I can't find right now. While I normally don' t like things with "this" feel- for lack of a MUCH better word, I can see using this in a room with not a lot going on as a focal point.

All pieces can be found on WISTERIA.

Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend

Anyone who regularly reads home magazines has seen the carpet below (another Gem from Heather Smith, Southern Accents 2009)- thousands of times. Yet, I never tire of it. The one in the picture is listed as a Stark, although I know Prestige Mills has one too. (Both available through the trade)They are on the pricey side- shocking I know, I love them, why would they be cheap?!?!? I digress. Anyhoo, the good news is there are some similar rugs out there.

***Let me pause here to say that while I like the rugs below, they really don't compare to the Stark version and if I could afford it, I would take the Stark ANY day over the others
The one above (West Elm) I have used before in someone's home and it is great. The blue beauty below is from Home Decorators Collection and comes in other colors but I think the blue is eye catching.
Dash and Albert has several good diamond rugs, their range of colors is far better than most, they introduced a new color- Slate- at market that is my favorite. They are also indoor/outdoor, always a plus.
Speaking of outdoor/indoor rugs, these are from Pottery Barn and are outdoor rugs, although they have an indoor version as well.

This one (PB again) is not sisal , but I had to throw it in. Better yet is is on sale! Until my little budget grows, one of these will be coming home with me.....
