So thankful that today is the ultimate reminder that no matter what, it will all be okay.

Preen Prints

I saw a different version of this dress in a magazine over the weekend and I could not get enough of the pattern.  I cruised on over to Net-A-Porter to check it out and even though they did not have the original dress, they did have these.

I would take one of each if I could justify spending that on clothing at the moment.  Nevertheless, I continued to look around and when my clothing money tree does grow, I think Preen might reign supreme as my current favorite.  Just a few more with a pattern play I love.

I Know, I Know...

I know, I know…I have sworn off cheap shoes publicly many times.  For the most part I stand by that.  When you have an old back injury and are on your feet most of the day there is little room for uncomfortable shoes…and that is what most cheap shoes turn out to be.

Buttttttttt, every now and then I do happen to find a pair that make my wallet and purse equally happy.  I found these the other day at Target, and what I can say? They are navy which is my weakness.  So far they have been very comfortable, even at 7 months pregnant.  Just thought I would pass along….

Spring Shopping

It is Spring Break week here in the 'Ham….also known as one of my favorite weeks of the year to be in town.  Quiet traffic, quiet stores, quiet restaurants…it is nice.  It also has me dreaming of Spring shopping.  Not that I will be doing any this Spring seeing as how I am rounding the corner into my third trimester, but I can still dream.  Some looks catching my eye lately...

We're Back

After the chaos to get down to Turks & Caicos we did make and now we are back.  Vacation was wonderful and much needed.  I posted these on my Instagram but I thought I would share here as well.
Above: We made several of these signs for Henry and have not made one for Baby 2, we thought we should up our efforts!
To say we were not excited to come home is an understatement, except we were SO ready to see this guy again.
Now I am back in the office trying to dig out.  I hope to be back on here this week, we shall see, in the mean time I hope you have a wonderful week!

Quiet Time

This past week  we had a  whirlwind 24 hours in which we found ourselves at  Kinkos in Birmingham at midnight, in the car headed to Atlanta at 2:30 AM and on  a street corner in downtown Atlanta  before the sun was up. All unexpected, all with Henry  in tow.  We discovered the night before a  trip our passports were expired.   So, while this was not a horrific scenario, it felt that way at the time.

Why am I writing about  this  for a Sunday post while on the plane? Because in the midst of all this craziness I found myself  carrying Henry in the dark, downtown, hobbling to meet Patrick when a man stopped me. In Atlanta  they have people downtown to help you, answer questions, guide visitors, etc.  A great addition to their tourism industry.  Anyways, I started telling this man about  the wild adventure we were on and he looked at me and said, "I am going to pray for you."

And he did just that. He literally prayed out loud "over" us right there in the middle of the street.  Trust me, I know how Cookoo this sounds to a lot of you reading. But it was so nice and refreshing. While I know people pray for us all the time it is rare that it is carried out in such a manner.

I am thankful for that man. I am thankful for his prayers, they worked. I am so very thankful to live in a place where something as simple but powerful as this interaction can occur.  I am thankful Henry was there to witness it, even if at this age he won't remember. I am thankful for people who can be so open about Jesus, when I struggle to share my faith (even though I have these posts it is hard for me). I am thankful for all the kind people in this world, especially when sometimes society can seem harsh. I pray you all have a blessed week and I hope you get to encounter small acts of kindness that stick to you.

PS- should you ever need a same-day passport it is possible.....
