Although while looking on West Elm I was drawn back to the dark side...this rug is on my short list...hmmm, so is that lumbar pillow...and the far side table too...

I think you can have your cake and eat it too. Dark spaces and light spaces can live in harmony in the same home.
The west elm rug would have looked great in my husband's office if I hadn't found one at Ikea. I am really drawn to both of these looks as well and attempting to mix them in my home.
I love the coral accent in the first picture but I am like you, I try to do bright but I am always drawn back to the darker side.

i am on a navy blue wall kick right now, so i really love the last room. the new catalog came and i didn't get a chance to look at it yet, but WE is always good for inspiration. i'm lovin' the coral painted bookcase, too!

I'm getting ready to do a dark bedroom for a friend and these images just get me so pumped! Those pops of coral will be making an appearance in my Etsy shoppe soon! I'm infatuated with that color.
