I don't see this happening anytime soon, but if I were to do it I would pick a very dark, almost black, gray. I know you are shocked!

It Is A Date

How cute are these play date cards? I am not a mother yet but I am sure these come in handy.

Cards from Felix Doolittle. Be Warned: Visit the site when you have time to look around. It would take me days to post all the cards/stationary/paper goods I am drooling over.

A Bloom For You

No time to blog right now but I will back later. I wanted to leave you with a page from Country Living that grabbed me.

Adding Sloane To My Wish List

I am loving this light Sloane Street Shop Light by Circa.Seen in this kitchen.Image House Beautiful.

White Made Entertaining

I love all white homes. My house one day will be mostly white, don't ask me why, I think it is because I look at color all day that I want the opposite. This house featured in House Beautiful grabbed me like most of their homes do and I was eager to read about it. When I read magazines I hardly ever actually read the articles, it is more of studying pictures. However, I find that House Beautiful has great interviews and I always enjoy stories about the owners and flipping back to see something I had missed that was referenced in the interview.

For instance, the owner of this house wanted a simple bedroom that felt more like a sleeping lodge so he made this small downstairs room his and reserved the whole second floor for guests.
This is what I call brilliant. A sitting area directly next to a kitchen. People congregate in the kitchen, it is a fact. If your room is set up like this, then people can converse near the kitchen while sitting comfortably. What do we think about the big mirror in the kitchen?
Love this piece over the mantel, such big personality in the simplest of things.Well I got off track because the point of the post was how great HB articles are and then I got distracted by the pictures. To read the full interview with designer Myra Hoefer visit HERE.

Let's Make A Deal- Can You Sew?

Image HERE
Three years ago (at least) I received a sewing machine which I had big plans for. I did take some classes but I have since forgotten everything. While I will still use my seamstress for clients I would like to be able to make simple pillows and curtains for my home. However, lessons are on the end of my budget list so what about a trade?

Here is what I am thinking. I am looking for someone in the Birmingham area, a whiz on a sewing machine, who can teach me how to use my machine and complete projects.

In return I will help with any decorating needs you might have, hour for hour.

If you are interested or know someone who might be e-mail me @ mstronginteriors@aol.com.

Taylor Show House

William Faulkner's House
I am going to have to make this somewhat quick since I am trying to get back into the swing of things after a fabulous weekend. We went to Oxford, MS for the Double Decker Festival and I am still smiling. I know I say I love a lot of things, but there really are no words to describe how much I love that place. I am not even going to try to begin to explain what a wonderful place it is, that is for a different day and much better post. I will say if you ever can make it there, it is a place to go at least once, you won't regret it.

I did want to share one part of our weekend- staying at the Southern Living Idea house in Taylor. My brother-in-law is currently living in the house and was kind enough to host us Saturday night.
It was cool to stay in a show house, I of course was taking in everything from the hardware to the finish. Visit HERE for more details and photos. I hope to elaborate more later but for now I must run!

Love These Chairs-Inital It

I can't remember where I found this picture, but while trying to find it I came across a picture that I believe is the "before" picture of the chair. LOVE THEM.
Image from Country Living HERE.

Not only do I love the chairs but I love their owner. I know, he bothers some people, but I think he is absolutely fabulous.
Since I think he is funny is his own way, I am interested to see what his next gig will be like as the host of The Fashion Show. I hope it is good but it has some really big shoes to fill left from Project Runway, my favorite show on TV. You can go to the website to read the bios of the designers (which I have not done yet) and while you are there you should check out this video on how Isaac got started.
You know I love to hear where and how people got started. Do you think The Fashion Show will be good?

Have a great weekend!

Studio Printworks Wallpaper- Wild, Wacky & Weird

As someone who appreciates things that are different and has a love for wallpaper, I was excited when I came across Studio Printworks Wallpaper.
Starting With the Wild- the above wallpaper is FABULOUS in person and the silver colorway is to-die-for. Unfortunately it does not come out well on the computer.

Since I have a special place in my heart for all things geometric I don't think I need to explain my feelings for these.

Now Onto the Wacky (in a good way)
These have their place somewhere...
Trust me on this one, it is CUTE.

And the Weird...not sure how I feel about this one...
Maybe for a commercial job. Skulls are A.) Slightly disturbing B.) Too trendy C.) I just don't want to feel like my wall is staring at me.

No, No, No. I hate bugs, I have ZERO love for this wallpaper. However, I do appreciate that different people like different things and this is perfect for somebody else.

All these wallpapers and many more come in SEVERAL colorways that are excellent. It is definitely worth a trip to their website. Be sure to look for the explanations of some designs.

*I must warn you these are not the most budget friendly papers there are, not bad, but not cheap.

**Available To-The-Trade. If you ever need a Trade good please e-mail me for information.
