More Cottage Trees

After yesterday I thought I should put up the other inspiration trees from the November 2008 Cottage Living since they are wonderful as well....The tree above by Lindsey Ellis Beatty has so much I want to incorporate, especially the urn the tree is in and hanging something unexpected from the ceiling over the tree. The tree below by Jennifer Berno has the one the best toppers I have ever seen.
What is your tree style?

My Favorite Holiday Inspiration Picture

This picture from the Cottage Living is my favorite Christmas picture I have found.
What do I like about it: the striped rug, the wing chair, the basket the tree is in, the wallpaper, the slate fireplace surround, the tree, I could go on and on. This picture, styled by Ann Turner Carroll, is labeled "Vintage Casual", which to me sounds perfect.
I put both images on here because the first shows all the elements but the cover is clearer.

An Old Friend Found Again

When looking for my favorite Christmas tree picture ever (it will be up later today) I came across this house in the same magazine. Oh how I loved you and had long since forgotten about you. Finding Lee Kleinhelter's home (again) from Cottage Living November 2008 was definitely happy surprise.Cottage Living 2008 (tear)

A Cottage Living Christmas

I usually reserve Mondays for daydreaming, but my brain is so fried by the race to the finish line (Christmas) that I cannot even do that right now! So today I wanted to share with you some festive pictures from my old friend- Cottage Living. Maybe my day dream will be that CL will come back!!!Oh why can't this be my house? I just don't understand....
One day I will have a dinner party with mini trees on the table, love the idea! Do y'all find that you have these plans for great dinner parties and then by the time you get around to it, it is paper napkins instead of cloth, zero place cards and your everyday dinnerware? Seriously, I am going to try to work on that...(not that there is anything wrong with going casual)
So sweet, flowers as ornaments....I wish I had done this....
Next year I am going back to old school, big color lights, sorry PHS....

Goodbye Old Friend....

Needless to say I am still very depressed about Cottage Living. While it would take days to show y'all all the pages I have collected over the years from Cottage, I will leave you with some.....
Here we are however long down the road and I still dream of my office looking like this...

The arrow you see in the photograph is one of my notes, I will have a cabinet like this one in my bathroom one day.....I just first have to get a bathroom big enough to hold the cabinet...
Sorry some of these are terrible scans.

Love the light fixture, love the shelves, love the chair, I even love the purse beside the chair-

Saved the best for last.....I know most of you out there have seen this picture before....it hangs above my desk and when I meet with clients and ask them to show me what they like, I see this picture REPEATEDLY, it is universal....
The best part about Cottage Living is I could really see myself living in every room they ever showed, it was never over the top or stuffy. Thank you so much everyone who worked on Cottage Living, it was such a pleasure all these years and you will be greatly missed.

Black Wednesday

I am sure most of you have heard by now that Cottage Living has closed its doors. I COULD NOT BE MORE SAD. It was one of my favorite magazines and really the one that most mirrored my perfect homes....look for a much bigger tribute post over the next few days.....
