The Nursery...Progress!...?

I know I am making y'all nervous with the slowwwww nursery progression, several people have told me so. But don't worry, we are making progress...and I have come to peace with the realization that it will not be completely done by the time he decides to make his grand entrance into the world...
As of right now the paint is almost finished, the rocker is at the upholstery shop, the curtains are being made and the crib has arrived...all with stories/hiccups to be shared later. Things are hectic and at the moment decisions like what car seat do we need are overtaking others like sconces for the little guy. We are just going to keep plugging along, one foot in front of the other. In good nursery news I can assure you that the three nurseries I did for clients due soon are all finished!

Glad to hear things are coming together! Miss seeing you at water aerobics. Hoping to be back today or next Monday. Had a little scare the other day but all is well now-just have to lay low. Been thinking about all of y'all. Hope you're feeling good! See you soon. Holley

My kids never slept in their room until they were about 4 months old - it's just easier to get to them in the middle of the night when they're in your room - you've got no worries

The color is lovely and I love the fabric swatches you have chosen-- I can't wait to see this space come together! My sister's baby is literally due any second and we are still awaiting the arrival of her Serena & Lily glider! We have decided NOT to worry about it-- it definitely takes the pressure off when you decide it doesn't HAVE to be complete before they enter into the world :) Good luck getting everything together!

Hi sweetie,

When is your due date? Mine is at the end of november... so many things to be done still!

I like the color, I think it's really fresh, Marianne.

I'm sure you'll have enough time to finish it. Besides, I think it's good everything is not already all done. With my 1st son I had his nursery done 4 months before he was born. It was crazy! I didn't have anything else to do, besides waiting for his birth, which drove me nuts! :-)

I know it's nice to have the nursery done before the baby arrives, but in reality he'll most likely be in your room in a bassinet for at least a few weeks, so don't sweat it! And anyway, the baby won't mind and, if he does, he can't tell you so! Ha ha.

Our nursery wasn't completely finished either when our son arrived. But in the grand scheme of things, as long as he arrived safely and healthy that was all that mattered :) And as you say, all my clients nurseries were done on time, but this designers....not so much.

Can't wait to see the unveiling! Hope that you are feeling well. Take care of you!

The nursery looks great so far! We (my husband) did an overhaul of our spare room when I was pregnant with my first. he put down laminate flooring, painted and used wall "stickems" to jazz up the room. It looks great now!
