Have I Been Under A Rock?

I am not sure where I have been but I just heard about TradHome from a friend across the pond. I am beginning to think I am living under the pond! Anyhoo, I have not had time to sit and digest yet but I wanted to hear your thoughts! From a quick glance it looks fabulous but it will be a little while before I get to enjoy properly. Those of you who are more in the loop than I am (which is probably everyone at this point) let me know how it is!

PS- Thank you for the e-mails and comments from yesterday's post. You really know how to make someone feel loved and special!

xx,

Marianne

Birmingham Home & Garden

I am off to Market for the rest of the week but I wanted to say a quick thank you to Birmingham Home & Garden for including me in the January/February issue.
I am featured as one of their trendsetters/tastemakers and I must say I am in some great company! Thank you for thinking of me and H&H.

HELLO?!?!?!?! IS ANYONE LISTENING?!?!?! ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST

HELLO?!?!?!?!?! HELLLLOOOOOO?!?!?!?! You there!!!! The Bigwigs at Time, etc. ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?!?!?!?! This was actually the start to another post I was going to do today about how much I really do miss all the shelter magazines that have folded. I was filing all my old magazines last weekend and it hit me like a ton of bricks how many magazines I missed, craved really. Yes, blogs are great but they are not even close to the same as a magazine. Ironically, as I was about to post this with images from Domino, Cottage Living, etc. I found out that Southern Accents is now folding too. PLEASE SOMEONE STOP THE MADNESS!!!!!

When I look at pictures on blogs/websites I think, "Oh that is a great room", but then I move on. When I am reading magazines I STUDY every aspect of a room. There really is no comparison. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring some of the dead shelter magazines back to life and into my mailbox!

In The Mood For White Curtains...

Is it because being inside for months makes me think about changing things around in my house? Or that Spring around the corner makes me want a clean palette and fresh surroundings? Not sure what it is but I am definitely wanting some big, fluffy, white curtains for my home. Actually big, white, silk curtains to be exact (which would really not fit in this home at all and is usually not my first choice). I don't know, just one of those random urges...(sorry for the bad scans) LOVE the room below...

Even on beds...
Hello dream room...
The room in the Jan/Feb Elle Decor that started this infatuation...

The good news is, if should I decide to act on this urge, you can find reasonable white curtains almost everywhere (since at the moment getting them made is not an option).
Above, Pottery Barn-LOVE LOVE LOVE the bordered roman shades beneath the panels. Below, Ballard Designs- not a pole pocket fan though.
I must say, Restoration Hardware has some of the prettiest silk curtains, in all different styles if you are going to go the store bought route.
Well you know I couldn't leave off the old BFF West Elm.
* BTW- Just a warning, West Elm does not put a liner on the back of the curtains which drives me CRAZY. Pet Peeve- driving by homes with different curtains in every window in several colors. I know that unless you getting them made the liners are not going to match, but at least they can all be similiar in color. Sorry, that is me being a picky decorator.

Photos, in order from top-First 2 pictures I am guessing Veranda but I am not 100% sure, Traditional Home March 08, first bed-Traditional Home May 07, Elle Decor, Elle Decor Jan/Feb 09, Veranda

**I started pulling out pictures long before I ever thought of doing a blog so I do not have a lot of the information I would like about pictures. If you ever recognize one and have additional information I would love to have it since I think it is unfair to not give credit where it is due.

Have a great weekend!
