Just Another Thing To Add

I was on the hunt for more information on this vacant latch I saw in this ad...
Which brought me to the Ginger's website. No luck on said latch but I did find many other pieces of hardware which I will be adding to my "one day house" list...
Man their door knobs are pretty. Our current door knobs are....well....heinous (to match our cheap, cheap interior doors). One day when I have pretty interior doors something like one of these will be adorning them.
There is something I really like about oval door knobs, I think they fit my hand better...
The back behind these knobs I just love. My sister in law moved into a house with similar hardware and was going to get rid of all of them and told her NOOOOOOO!!!
Have I mentioned on here that I want a lion door knocker? E.H. the search continues!
I won't even get started today on my "one day" shower but I will tell you something like this will be part of it...
or this...
and definitely this...

ok, never have I seen a shower head like that! How clever!
Also, your post reminds me of a trick I saw in a friends house years ago. She painted all her interior doors a fabulous dark color (sort of a black, brown color) and it made them look like solid interior doors. I remember talking to her about our interior doors when we bought this house (I was complaining about how cheap they were and how I loved hers) and she shared with me that her doors were not solid. If you like the look, it really does work! M.

ALl of this hardware is so beautiful. When we built our former home in VA...it was exactly these sort of details that soaked up a lot of our budget. But I knew that they help a house stand apart.

Ahhh heaven. The 3rd pic reminds me of those awesome doors with the knobs in the middle! Mental note: tell my decorator I want one in my "one day" home! ;)

I am off today to look at hardware for the new home so this post is perfect timing. While I do love the egg shape I would still need leavers on doors leading to the exterior. Our POS rental has a knob from the garage to house and trying to open it with your hands full is mission impossible.

Ginger's is an amazing store, I only wish they would branch out and come west...we like nice things over here too. :)

Isn't it funny how excited we can get about fixtures? I love the first brassy knob.

I've found some good antique drawer pulls on ebay before. Adds some interest to an otherwise boring chest.

So pretty...especially the ones your sister in law wanted to get rid of! I just did something similar from Emtek and they look and feel great and the price was right.

I love old and unique hardware. When we were doing some demo in our current house we found a bunch of porcelain and glass doorknobs. Score!
