Vacation.

Hello My Loves,

I am taking the next few days off for some much needed vacation. You know when sometimes you need a vacation, and then other times you NEED a vacation, and then there are times you MUST HAVE A VACATION NOW BEFORE YOU EAT A WHOLE CARTON OF MAC & CHEESE WITH A BOTTLE OF WINE AND THEN FINISH IT OFF WITH BEN & JERRY'S OATMEAL COOKIE ICE CREAM?

Well, I am at the last one. Things have been great lately and I have been very busy, something I do not take for granted for one second, but I am ready for the beach.I had to post this poster I saw on Everything LEB in my vacation post. So fitting isn't it?

So, I will be off the blogs for a few days but I will be back Monday. Also, starting next week I am finally going to get around to doing Google Reader so I can see when all my favorite blogs post new entries so I don't feel overwhelmed when I sit down to do a little reading. Okay, I am off to drink some fruity frozen drinks (which will all be calorie free since it is vacation right?)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I will see you next week!

Hello wonderful blog readers, I need your vote. I am sick of the magazines I am currently receiving and I think I need to shake it up some. I am debating between:

Let me know what you think, both the good and the bad!

PS- I finally got my follower button up and I just wanted to say a big thank you to H&H followers, you don't know how much it means to me!

A Very Happy Study

Since today everyone is back to work and probably needing a pick me up, I thought I would share with you a study I did recently that makes me happy.
There are many things I love in the room, but perhaps the thing I love the most is the coral wall. The husband I have named "Husband of the Year" because not only does he not mind things like bright walls, but he also helped with a lot of manual labor.
I need to get better pictures but these give you a good idea of the study.

This wonderful couple also recently redid their guest bathroom including this amazing grass cloth wallpaper.
I wish my bathroom looked that bright and clean!

Off to work, I will try to get the sources up later. If I don't e-mail me for any additional information. I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day!

Do You Suffer From DBRB?

The very witty Alison at My Little Happy Place realized that many of her readers (including myself) suffer from Design Blog Readers Blues. DBRB results from seeing so many perfect homes on blogs and in magazines. Readers feel inadequate after viewing seemingly unattainable rooms. So, what is a blogger to do? Allison asked a few decorators/designers to show readers their real rooms, flaws and all. So, hop on over to MLHP and check them out, including my master bedroom - which I consider half finished.

Thank you Alison for asking me to be a part of this, what a great idea!

Good Morning

I do have something for today but it is not ready yet. I hope your Friday is going well and I will be back in just a little while.Image Martha Stewart Living

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

One of my very first favorite blogs (and still a favorite to this day) is:

So needless to say when Lindsay asked me to be a part of this I was so excited. So, if you want to see a few of my favorite things go over to Everything LEB. I should note that picking favorites for me was harder than I thought it would be, I fall in love with something new every day!

Is there anything of yours that is your absolute favorite (in any category)? I would love to hear about it.

An Advertiser's Dream- Ralph Lauren Paint

I am sure I have said before that I am an advertiser/marketers dream. Put a pretty ad or fun packaging in front of me and I am done, I must have it. That is the way I feel every time I see one of the Ralph Lauren Paint ads, especially the green one. It makes me think I need an emerald room ASAP.I have never used their paint before but these rooms (with coordinating palettes on the side of the picture) may just make me branch out.
Lately I have been wanting a very pale pink office, which normally is not me at all. This picture is what I am envisioning.

Have you ever used Ralph Lauren? Any color I definitely need to try somewhere?

I Am A Newlywed!

Okay not really but you can find my post today over at:
Jennifer asked me to be a guest blogger and I was more than happy to oblige. I posted about my front porch weekend project (paint was of course included) so I hope you will go over and read about it, I need some additional help!

Have a great day!

Welcome Home: Foyer Before & After

Slowly, very slowly, I am getting pictures up from clients homes. I am trying to master my camera enough to not have to hire a photographer, but as you may be able to tell- this is still a work in progress. Today I have to hit the ground running so here is a quick before and after.Above is a client's foyer before and below is the after.
One big change was the light fixture. This light I designed for the specific space and we had it custom made. Another instant way to change a room is to add a rug.Sources:
Rug: Eighteenth Street Orientals (Birmingham, AL)
Light on Table: Client's own
Shade: Village Firefly (Birmingham, AL)
Mirror& Console: To-The-Trade available through Marianne Strong Interiors

Have a wonderful Monday!

South of Market- Dream Come True

I tried to find one picture that represented my style, but I could not stop at just one. However, if I had to pick just one store that was closest to my personal style South of Market would be the clear winner. There are MANY stores I love, but this one is my dream store. The owner did this room for the Decorators' Showhouse in Atlanta just to give you an idea of what lies ahead. On to the actual store...
The owner scours Belgium and France for many of the items. Antique one of a kinds, new upholstery, and brilliantly used reclaimed industrial objects fill the store.

Unique light fixtures-one of my weaknesses- one of the best parts of the store.

The staging of the store is impeccable as well.
I always have pillow envy when I leave there- crisp yet soft, perfectly stuffed, my favorite fabrics.

Do you see why I am slightly obsessed?

Visit them in Atlanta or Charleston, or online at www.southofmarket.biz
