Quiet Time

"Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgements he pronounced..." Psalm 105:4-5

As I am posting this today I feel a lot of different things inside:
-Gratitude for such wonderful family and friends, one of the best parts of being pregnant is all the love that surrounds you. Lord thank you for this gift.
-Sadness for some people I care about deeply, God hear their prayer.
-Convicted: this is a crazy time and to be honest He has not been at the top of my heart or mind this week...and I can tell. Lord help me seek you first always.

All Work & No Play...

Is not the way to spend your last couple of months as a couple together. Patrick and I have been working really hard, truth be told I think we are both workaholics to a degree (maybe to a fault). We work to keep this in check though, especially with a baby on the way. Soooo, when it was suggested to take a "babymoon", we did just that and headed to the Gulf Coast this past weekend. It was nice. We have definitely made the most of all the wonderful moments lately, including taking pictures to show Baby Strong one day...
Little signs with a lot of meaning and one day memories....
Cheesy? Yes. Do I love them though? Absolutely. From the beach yesterday to Market in Atlanta today, it is a busy week! So I will be signing off for now wishing y'all a wonderful rest of the week.

The Ceiling...Deep Breath

Things are progressing here....slowly. I have the whole nursery in my head (for the most part). However, reality is getting in the way. The first thing I knew I wanted to do with the nursery was wallpaper. That progressed to wallpapering the ceiling. Well, you see, I have run into some problems, the primary ones being low ceilings and expensive taste. The B word (budget) is looming in the air and we are not sure how long we will be in this house. Soooo, spending a lot on wallpaper that a future buyer* will probably not appreciate did not make sense. Enter a painted ceiling.
Here are some ideas I had for a tone on tone ceiling pattern. Oh the possibilities. BUT, I showed my painter and let's just say this route doesn't help the ole budget as I had hoped. Back to the drawing board....
*We are not planning on moving any time soon but our house is square footage challenged and I am sure in the next couple of years this will become a problem.

Quiet Time

Remember Pinocchio? There is a Jiminy Cricket on your shoulder, giving the very best advice. It is you, your authentic self, the one your were in first grade, before you learned to massage your personality into a form that would suit others. Sometimes it's hard to hear its message because all the external voices are so loud, so shrill, so adamant. Voices that are loud are always meant to bully. Do not be bullied. Acts of bravery don't always take place on battlefields. They can take place in your heart, when you have the courage to honor your character, your intellect, you inclinations, and, yes, your soul by listening to its clean, clear voice of direction instead of following the muddled messages of a timid world. So carry your courage in an easily accessible place, the way you do your cell phone or your wallet. You may still falter or fail, but you will always know that you pushed hard and aimed high. -Ana Quindien via Good Housekeeping

While this could be applied to different things, when I read it I immediately thought about faith and how hard it can be to have/show in this world. I found this to be a good reminder to stay focused on what is important, which is Him.

Happy Friday

It is hard to know what is really drawing me to this picture:
A. The White Dress- that I am dying for
B. The Shoes- which I am dying for
C. The Hamburger- that I am dying for
Let's be honest, it is mostly likely C at the moment.

Image from ?, it was a recent ad but I am drawing a blank for what company

Office Chair Sneak Peek

I have two chairs in the office (I promise pictures coming at some point) that need a good coat of paint and new cushions. I had not put too much thought into it until last week when sending several items to the upholstery shop and I figured why not add these to the list. So, on a whim, I decided bright pink and whimsical was the way to go.
Rarely do I make decisions that quickly for myself so we will see how I feel down the road. I think I will like them. I knew for this office I wanted some feminine touches that I would not use in my house. This setup from High Point has not left my mind. Those boards are still high on my personal to-do list (you know, right after an ENTIRE nursery).
More pink office inspiration...
Okay the last one might not be an office but I still come back to it whenever I am having a pink moment.

Morning Snack- Light Bright

I just bought a new computer and I am far from figuring out how to use it. I wanted to post something else but navigating the pictures is taking longer than expected so I will leave you with this one for now. I am sure I have already used it on here before but I don't remember it (not that that means anything these days) so it is new to me....

Quiet Time

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
