Thank You & A Random Question For Y'all

First, thank you for the e-mails from Monday's post.  I am not sure why comments were not working but it seems to be fine now.  So far I have had a great week and even though it was rough to get back to it, it has been good.  I appreciate your kind words and checking in on me.

Random question: Any brand of towels you love and can't live without? Does not have to be anything fancy.  I am replacing all our gray towels with white since my face lotions and potions seem to be discoloring them.

I'm in Australia, so I don't know if you have Dri-Glo towels there, but they're great. I've heard the Hotel Collection from Macy's (as mentioned above) are fabulous as well. I have sheets from that brand and love them.

i am a big fan of the sets that horchow/neiman marcus sells. you can usually scoop them up on sale, they are free monograms and they've put up with my weekly bleaching of them for years!

(currently on sale: Six-Piece "Essentials" Towel Set)

We use Pottery Barn white and love them. Easy to bleach and very dense and soft. Also, easy to replace, if needed. Good luck!

I just received my L.L. Bean Home catalog & they advertise towels that are treated to hold up to Benzoyl Peroxide & other face products. Might be worth checking into.

My 2 cents. I received multiple sets of Ralph Lauren Greenwich towels for my bridal shower in 2008; loved them, they were sturdy and wore them out. Last year I ordered more sets from Horchow during a white sale, and they all fell apart after just a few washings. I was so disappointed. Times have changed. My advice, no matter what brand you decide on (Not RL Greenwich!), always buy them in white. Classic and can be bleached or treated with a blueing agent to make them fresh.

My favorite, by a long shot, is Garnet Hill brand towels. Also, their sheets are the one and only I will ever buy! The towels come in great colors:; I mixed lime and orange in a bathroom and it was wonderful!

I really like the plain white Martha Stewart ones - plain hem on each end, 100% cotton. They last FOREVER, are soft and look plush on a towel bar.

No favorite brand, but something to think about: towels that have the finish detail at the edge and not 4 inches up from the bottom. You get way more useable material from the towel and less of the rough embroidery on your skin.

I like a few of the above mentioned brands. Here's my trick--I keep a roll of nice paper towels in my bathroom and use them as disposable washclothes to remove all my make-up and mascara. It really saves the nice towels and keeps the laundry down too.
