Quiet Time

I have been so busy for so long that once things started clearing up recently (something I had so desperately wanted) I felt lost.  I do not want to be that person, I am working on it, but in today's world it is just so hard to....sit.

Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42

AMEN! I absolutely agree! I have fought w/ the 'not doing enough' syndrome myself for far too long! As a wife -a mom - Interior Designer - coffee house owner - I have realized this past year that being a Wife & a Mom is Enough & those other things are added blessings when you don't let them take over and push out my most important roll as Child of God - wife to my husband & mom to 2 precious boys. So as they say 'a Change is comin'! =) I pray you too enjoy to bask in His presence and realize you too are doing Enough! =)

It is hard to "sit". I feel the same way.

I pinned this! I struggle with the same. I find my self worth in my work and not what matters most, being a child of God. It really makes me sad sometimes.

glorification of busy...that is convicting for me! I am afraid to sit and be as well.I think of Mary and Martha often when I am home with my children.

I am struck by your words..." I am working on it ( to sit.)" Ask Him to bring you rest. I think when we work on it, we are doing it out of our own strength. I reminded of Be still and know that I am God( Psalm 46:10). and Wait on the Lord, My Soul Waits, and in His Word I put my hope.

Thank you Marian for putting this one up. Its a good reminder for me:)
