We are in the market for an umbrella stroller and I could use some advice. These are the finalist so far but I am open to suggestions!
Above Maclaren Volo, Below First Years Ignite
Above First Years Jet, Below UppaBaby G-Lite
And yes, I am looking for black or dark colors. Our UppaBaby Vista (which I still love) looks like it needs to go through a car wash.

Marianne I have the Maclaren and love it! I have gotten every penny out of that baby. I keep it in the back of my car and use it all the time! It is easy to fold out and use. I got it in the dark hunter green color and it still looks good two years later!
Strollers....my area of expertise :) I have five children and feel like I have owned them all and the Volo is my all-time favorite. Extremely light, easy to fold and a dream to travel with. Also super-comfy - my daughter took some great naps in it. I give it 2 thumbs up! If you are interested in a slightly-used one, just say the word and I will send pics.
Maclaren!!! I cannot recommend them enough! I have a single and double and they are so light, well made, and small when folded. I am using my single on my 3rd child, it is 8 years old, and it still looks like new!
I am looking at them too! I hope you get some good suggestions. We also want black like our jog stroller!
Maclaren! Super light weight and well made :)
I did not want to spend much $ on an umbrella stroller since I sprung for the BOB (and now double BOB). I bought a Chicco for cheap-o. It is fine and gets the job done. I am about to have our 3rd (and probably final) baby and will stick with my little Chicco. That said, the MacLaren looks better. This sounds sill, but look in your photos at where the rear wheels are. In all of them BUT the MacLaren there is a bit of an angle and the back wheels are farther back. That is how they are on my Chicco and I am constantly kicking them so I have gotten used to walking to the side of the stroller or just taking shorter steps. Random and minor detail, I know. But in that case, the MacLaren looks like your best bet. Wheels out of the way!
Marianne I'm in the same boat. Loving the feedback/opinions that are coming in. Our 2 1/2 yr old (youngest of 5) has successively outgrown 2 inexpensive stroller models. Now I'm wishing I'd just bitten the bullet & invested more to start for higher weight limit version that would last her. I guess I should have known that she would buck all the norms in of our previous 4. She's almost as big at 2 1/2 as they were at age 4.
Susan if Marianne doesn't bite, I might ellacallatgmaildotcom.
I'm on my second and have the UppaBaby G-lite. I've had the Maclaren and I love the UppaBaby so much more. It's so light and I love how I can push it with one hand and it responds so well.
I splurged on a BOB too, so I went with the Joovy Scooter. It has a great price tag and looks cool too. I love the huge sun shade and basket. It also lays down pretty far, so I can actually change my son's diaper while he is still in it. I really love this stroller!
The G-Lite is awesome!!! Fully reclines, too, so you can use it with future babies much earlier than you can use any other umbrella.
I too have the Vista and the G-lite. My mom has the Volo. NO to the Volo. In my opinion, it doesn't navigate as easily as the G, it doesn't have a cup holder (coffee anyone?!), and most importantly, it doesn't recline. The G-lite reclines (albeit, not as low as my son would like some times, but still...anything is better than nothing.). Plus, the G-lite can be pulled tighter so that the child is sitting erect. I hate that the volo has the kiddo sitting back, but not reclined. The sunshade is worth it too. I have a 2 1/2 and a 7 month old (with one on the way)....my 7 month old has been riding in the reclined G-lite for a long time when we are just running errands. It really is wonderful. You can often find them onsale on Gilt.com too. The downside of all umbrellas is the tiny basket. It doesn't carry much.
Mamas and Papas have some amazing and stylish options!! i have the Tour in black, it has a grey and black striped inlay and I LOVE it.
I have a Maclaren triumph and it is nice, light and folds easily. It has one huge disadvantage...when you hang you diaper bag or any bag as a matter of fact on the handles and your kid gets out, the stroller it automatically tips over. I find it extremely annoying because my bags are never really heavy. My friend did extensive research and bought peg perego umbrella stroller and she loves it.
