We went last year, our son is a HUGE Patriots fan and couldn't wait! It was awesome and it is true the Duck Tour is worth it..kids love it:) Loved the shopping and enjoyed walking through the Boston Public Garden. As you can see our trip was family oriented:) Oh, and the Maparium was kind of neat..
Come to NY and visit me! Better yet email me and let me know when you are going. Perhaps I can sneak away to Boston for a couple of days. I need to see you!!!
I live in Boston - some options for sight seeing: Fanueil Hall, the North End, take a Duck Tour, shopping on Newbury Street, the waterfront, walk the Freedom Trail. Restaurants: Tremont 647 for brunch, B&G Oyster or Island Creek for seafood, Toro, drinks on the roofdeck of Legal Harborside - enjoy! Also agree with the above - if you can take a day or two ferry ride to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket I highly recommend it!
Oooh, Boston! For good food in pretty places: Flour is a great bakery in the South End, and The Buttery is good too. Stephanie's on Newbury is one of my favorite restaurants - it's fun to sit outside there. If you're up for walking around, the Freedom Trail is fun, but it's also fun to meander through Beacon Hill. Charles Street has lots of cute shops, and the brownstones are beautiful. Check out Acorn Street in Beacon Hill - it's very "Boston" looking.
I live in Boston too...such a fun city to visit! The Children's Museum is fantastic & the Aquarium is fun (but really pricey!) My kids love the museum of Science. North End for fantastic italian food, gelato and Mike's Pastries, the South End for the Buttery & homegoods shops like Hudson, the Public Garden & swan boats for fun. Friday Night Flicks at the hatchshell on the Esplanade if kids are in tow. Martha's Vineyard over Nantucket, but York, Maine is a 75 mintute drive and is gorgeous! The Aquarium is one of the best in the world. The penguins are great entertainment. It's right across the street from Faneuil Hall for lunch!
