I originally pinned this picture because it made me think of Patrick and me, we are so busy that we have to consciously work to make sure we give each other the time we need. Then when thinking about what to write today this popped in my head....I am pretty sure it was God reminding me of the same thing with Him.
Speaking of time spent with God....When I was pregnant a friend gave me a daily pregnancy devotional which I loved. To be honest I had never read a daily devotional before. I would love to start that again, just a little something to begin or the end the day with. Any good recommendations?

I absolutely LOVE Jesus Calling. I don't know how this is possible {apart from God}, but it literally speaks to me {and so many others} on a personal level every single day. SO GOOD!
There's even an app for the iPhone if you prefer that. I have both the app and the book. It's my 4th or 5th year going through it, and it's still fresh!
Happy Sunday!

I start a yearly devotional every January and it truly makes a difference not only in your faith journey, but in starting each day off right. Last year I worked through Jill Briscoe's The One Year Devotions For Women http://is.gd/COIrRw. It was wonderful! Jill has such a great way of uplifting women & helping us to draw closer to Him through His Word.
This year I'm using Beth Moore's Believing Gog Day By Day http://is.gd/LhkoE9. It's geared for busy women on the go - a verse & short summary. So far I'm loving it.
And the ultimate devotional of course is My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers http://is.gd/tUWq7j. Truly convicting & encouraging. In my opinion, it's the most challenging devotional available.
My husband & I do a daily devotional every night as well. There are several great ones available for couples at any Christian bookstore. We're currently doing Dr. James Dobson's Night Light http://is.gd/UjjzZP. My husband travels a lot so sometimes we have to read it together via skype or facetime, but we love spending that time together.
Hope you find one that you love!
Let me add to Ally's Beth Moore recommendation. I love Praying God's Word Day by Day. Link here. It is succinct, short, and practices a valuable skill of meditating on God's Word in our prayer life. What better words to pray back to God to request that He build in us the character He describes in His Word, or praise Him with the words He is ascribed in the Bible.
It's great for busy moms! I have an 11 month old and work full time. :)
I am currently reading The Resolution for Women
with my Sunday School class...it is phenomenal!! Super convicting in the best way possible. It is a study of a woman's calling...for God, for her children, for her husband and beyond. I am learning so much and He has changed my heart in little ways that I wasn't able to before.
But I also find more and more that music has become my time with God when I forget to take my time with Him. In my car, singing to myself at home (work) and to my son.
I second Jesus Calling or any of the Beth Moore daily devotionals ... so good!
I love my iPhone app for Joyce Meyers " promises for your everyday life" a daily devotional. It's the first thing I read every morning and it really sets the tone for my day.
Marianne-My sister 'n law gave me Heart of my Heart by Kristen Armstrong. I have several devotionals that I try to read daily but this is among my favorites. For me it speaks straight to my heart as a mother.
I start every day with this Marianne...http://www.greatday.com/
It is The Daily Motivator. It has been a lifesaver for me!

what a beautiful thought... thank you for sharing.
I third (or fourth?) Jesus Calling!!
I see several people already recommended it but I love Jesus Calling. I started it Jan 1 and I swear every night I read it seems to relate to some concern or worry I am having that day. It is a great devotional!
