Quiet Time- The Prettiest Prayer

I posted this prayer at this time last year. To me it the prettiest prayer.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

-Prayer of St. Francis

My daughters both had this prayer sung at their weddings. To me it expresses the foundation of a good marriage--peace, love, pardon, faith, hope, light, joy...consolation, understanding, loving...This weekend I posted on a similar theme--Love is My-Life-for-Yours. Stop by if you have a moment. Normally, I post on interiors, but divert from time to time to write about the interior of the heart. GraciousInteriors.blogspot.com

I have this framed in my kitchen. We used to sing it in my youth choir at church where I grew up. Nice memories. Always enjoy your Sunday reflections.
