The Ceiling...Deep Breath

Things are progressing here....slowly. I have the whole nursery in my head (for the most part). However, reality is getting in the way. The first thing I knew I wanted to do with the nursery was wallpaper. That progressed to wallpapering the ceiling. Well, you see, I have run into some problems, the primary ones being low ceilings and expensive taste. The B word (budget) is looming in the air and we are not sure how long we will be in this house. Soooo, spending a lot on wallpaper that a future buyer* will probably not appreciate did not make sense. Enter a painted ceiling.
Here are some ideas I had for a tone on tone ceiling pattern. Oh the possibilities. BUT, I showed my painter and let's just say this route doesn't help the ole budget as I had hoped. Back to the drawing board....
*We are not planning on moving any time soon but our house is square footage challenged and I am sure in the next couple of years this will become a problem.

Maybe you could do a simple stencil on the ceiling or just some stripes???
Hopefully your painter wouldn't mind.

If only we could have unlimited budgets. I am running into the same problem with a client of mine. They want to use wallpaper, but it is just to expensive. I found these fab stencils on etsy you should check them out:

Oh, I tried to send you an comment... got lost.

Thank yo so much for stopping by yesterday! I'm tired lately, but feeling ok. I just need to slow down a bit.

About the nursery. I like the idea of painting the ceiling. Try to not be too hard on yourself. It will look great, just make sure you don't stress to much. Maybe a simpler pattern will still look amazing and will be more affordable. The good thing is, you still have time to decide! :-)

What about talking your sweet husband into doing it for you or maybe even going for simple stripes? The 'B' word is not one I like working with either but sometimes it can make you be more creative! Hope you are feeling well and I know no matter what you decide it will be fantastic!

Oh just do it yourself! Problem solved.

Says the girl who can barely paint a white wall herself. And by barely, I mean I can't.

This is probably not helpful in the slightest, but I just know anything you come up with will be precious. Don't stress!

Darn! Budgets, a designers worst nightmare and a word that should be banished from the vocabulary!

The designer in me never gives up, never gives in and finds a way navigate budgetary challenges...sounds like you are the same ;)

Try this website suggested to me by my faux finisher (she's fab, does all the PF Changs and Cheese Cake Factories) as it might help. I've not perused it, but do try.

And be not discouraged, you can do a whole lot with some paint and masking/painters tape! Also, look for a paper that has a geometric pattern that's possibly been discontinued. Talk to your sales rep's too, maybe they can help.

Good luck, it will be gorgeous!
