A New Workspace

With my office now moved out of the house I find myself lost with what to do with house related bills, invitations, etc. Exactly where is the tape? Do we have any stamps here? We have a tiny nook in the kitchen and this picture from Better Homes and Gardens got my wheels turning.
I am going to seriously consider a secretary for that space. Reminds me of an oldie but goodie from Eddie Ross... First image Better Homes and Gardens

I am STILL searching for an affordable secretary that I can do that with-- I never get tired of it. We used to have all of our office stuff organized in a much smaller secretary-- it worked so well b/c of the cubby holes.

I think that will be perfect! They never seem to go out of style and are the perfect storage solution. Dying to see how the space turns out! Hope you are feeling well!

That's a great idea... everything can be organized and hidden at the same time! :-)

You won't believe this, but I had a dream with the ice cream from yesterday! My husband was eating it and I asked how it tasted. He asked "why?" and I said it was because I wanted to tell you. Geeee... I need a break!!! LOL

Enjoy your day.

I've been searching craigslist for a secretary for months! Every time I find one that might work it sells while I'm out of town for business! I hope you decide to to get one!!! :)

I have felt the same way...and I only moved from our spare bedroom to our detached guest quarters! I'm always running up there to grab things that I don't have organized well in the house. It's also why I have a super junky corner of the kitchen with random stuff...from glue to stationery (see my current post for a picture)!

My grandmother had a beatiful secretary as her desk. She could just close it up when company came over to hide her mess! Wish I could get my hands on it, but I think my sneaky aunt took it to Seattle ;)

I think a secretary is perfect! I've always wanted one, but our house is too small.

P.S. In my next house, I would like to have the "Office corner" in the kitchen. Now I have a study, don't use it and my lap has a variable space in the kitchen ;)

I love this too and tried it with our secretary, but it's all the way in the back bedroom and somehow everything managed to migrate back onto the dining room table ...

Looking forward to see what you do. As I am needing to do something as well at my house.

Yes, I'm so happy I still have mine - but these images make me think some white paint would really update it!

Perfect solution, practical and pretty.

I would love to paint the one in my bedroom but I love the contrast that it provides. I inherited the desk from my grandmother and found the hutch at a flea market on Capitol Hill. I took a wild guess that it would fit and shipped it back (glass doors and all!). It fits like a charm but I can't afford to have a professional restore it to it's original wood finish so painting might be the next best option.

thanks for posting

here's a picture of it:
