Pattern Play

I have posted this picture before...I think... but I came back across it while going through pictures in my inspiration file. Usually this would not be my type of runner, too busy and patchy (word?) but I love it in this setting.

The pattern feels inviting and provides a welcome point of interest in all the gray (not that I would complain about a heavy dose of gray). I think it would work just as well in an all white setting as well.

I like it on the stairs where it is broken up somewhat. I am not sure I would like it on the regular floor.

By the way, did you celebrate yesterday?? :-)

Have a blessed week!

Love all the wood! The light looks a little out of proportion, but I'm liking the stairs!

Gorgeous photo! I agree, the rug could read as busy, but it feels right at home surrounded by all the traditional architecture of the room.

It is gorgeous! I totally agree with Ashley's comment. It also adds such character and texture!

Yes, not the runner I would pick for my own home, but it works really well in that space.
