Quiet Time

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:5-6

Wonderful post, Marianne. Although I have full faith in God's power and ability, I tend to play tug-of-war with problems - I turn them over to Him /take them back. This was a great reminder.

I've been absent, posting a minimal amount and speed-reading other blogs when possible. I hope to get back in a normal routine. I always love your posts.

Not being blown and tossed around sounds pretty good to me!

Wisdom & Believing are two wonderful words that I think I'll tattoo somewhere...just kidding, but I might write them out and place them somewhere nice where I'll see them everyday, they need to be seen together!

Ahh, wisdom! "Nothing you desire can compare with her" (Proverbs 3:15) Beautiful scripture Marianne! Thanks for sharing!

The only wisdom I know for sure is to be humble. :)

I suppose one of my first prayers is that He remove any doubts I have of his supreme love and power, so that I can come to him fully trusting and humble. Step by step! Thank goodness we have a patient God!

I've always loved this reading about asking for guidance and having faith. Pretty easy to do when things are going well. Not so easy to do when things are hard and we really need to ask for wisdom and stay steady. The photograph is lovely. Thanks for such a thoughtful post.
