Dear Frye

Dear Frye ,

My love for your boots is no secret. I think you are great but I do have one problem. Over the years I have ordered a few pairs of different cuff boots from you. For example, last week I ordered these...I love them, I wish they could be mine. But they can't. You see, if you are... oh say 5'2", then all cuff styles always hit at an awkward spot, right in the middle of the knee cap.
I tried to ignore this little issue but really it looks a little off and rubs your knee constantly while walking. I tried (many times over the years) to fold down the cuff more but it never works. So I am giving up. Maybe next years cuff can be 1.5" shorter? I am just saying.....

*For those of you who asked, I did love them and do recommend them to those without vertical issues. Also Zappos has them on sale right now (to add insult to injury).

Oh my...I'm in LOVE with these boots! WoW! Oh honey...like Victoria Beckham says...IT HURTS TO LOOK GOOD. STYLE ISN'T ABOUT HOW IT FEELS, IT'S ABOUT HOW IT LOOKS! Ha!

Haha, without vertical issues. Well, if it makes you feel any better I have the exact opposite problem, so I feel your pain! xo

Love those! Simply Seleta did a post on these today--- and she has them shown going over the knee--- where it isn't folded down so much! Just a thought!

Love those boots girl, but like you I am 5'2 so it would not look good on me either!

I gotta say Dew, I think there is some creative photography going on from ol' Frye b/c I don't love these in the pics you took and for the money they're askin' you can find MUCH cuter! You know my gam issues are the same as yours (which at 5'5 is WAY MORE embarassing, trust) but take heart dear friend and fellow shorties of the world; we too will find fabulous winter footware... somewhere. ;)

Bummer! I was just looking at these today, but I'm height challenged at 5'3" as well. What about over the knee?

Oh man...I LOVED these, but alas, I am also 5'2". BUT would it help (even just a teeny tiny bit) to put some super feet insoles in on top of the soles? They help your arches and you can cut them to the exact size...so maybe you could layer and it would just get you a smidge past the irritating knee rub. I dunno, but they are waaaay to cute to not wear:)

So sad I do love em! But good to know, I am 5'2 myself :)

I am 5'3 and have this problem with a lot of boots. It is a bummer.

So have the same problem! I'm 5'1" and often resort to my beloved cowboy boots to get me through :)

P.S. I'm giving away a one month blog sponsorship — could be great for your design business! Happy holidays!

haha.. funny that you have that problem. I have bought 2 pairs of frye boots that were called "over the knee" and i'm only 5'6''but they were both 2 short! hah.. i guess sometimes you just have to keep looking.

Happy Holidays!

I'm really glad you posted about that! I'm on a quest for the perfect riding boots, and these were on my maybe list. But alas, I'm 5'2" as well. Guess I'll cross them off! Do you love Frye though? I am thinking about a couple of their other options.
