"I always imagine my clients inviting friends over by telling them their house is the one with the giant glowing globe," says Tim. "Every house needs an icon." This quote taken out of the May issue of Coastal Living really struck me. Perhaps because I believe in statement making lighting too...Tim sounds like my kind of designer.Another reason Tim is my kind of designer is these roman shades that I can't stop thinking about...Oh and I will take the ottoman too....

The lighting fixtures are so fun!!

Wow - I love both of those images.
Wish I had that view out my windows. I am so ready for summer!
I love an interesting pair of Roman shades - these are perfect!
Beautiful. Wish I was sitting there now!
Yes, I think having at least one outstanding item that sticks in visitors minds is what helps give a home a unique personality. Love that light fixture!
Another reason why I really need to subscribe to Coastal Living! Love the sunroom....looks perfect although I am curious why the sofa isn't a tad larger.
Wicked style.. That dining space is amazing, I love the fresh white with the natural tones, and you couldn't go past that light fitting.. wow!
:) Flick
Isn't CL stepping up it's game so much lately? I've been loving the past few issues.
i want to know why my subscription is always so late!!!!
i love the roman shades and found some that are very similar (but in a different color) @ cost plus. i blogged about them today, too!
Great stuff. It's like the beach met the bazaar and had a sophisticated baby together.
And yes, every room NEEDS statement lighting. Can't get enough!
It makes me bemoan my awful builder's special light fixtures even more. Drat the goose who took out the 75 year old ones and put these in instead... maybe I'll win the lottery and replace all of them this week!
Love the pictures! Where can I find that globe light over the dining table. I must have it!
I heart Tim. !!
I was just thinking about doing a post on him. It really is freaky how our minds think alike... via cyberspace. Let's get together soon! xoRH
I've no idea who Tim Clarke is, but I love the designs. A couple of years ago, Coastal Living started sending a free magazine to me. Loved it! Too bad we are Mtn. people. Too far from the coast. I'm fixing our cabins sun porch to look like a cottage this summer. Can't wait. Then I'll just pretend I'm by the ocean!
Thanks for the post Marianne - this was such a fun story to work on. I just did another shoot with Tim...and he's doing our idea house this year. Stay tuned!
