Quiet Time- Good Reads

My faith is strong and for that I am thankful. However, to say I don't have moments of doubt about my actions and if they are enough would be a lie. To be a believer is more than just going through day to day life, being a good person, it is about being a disciple- and I fail at that constantly. I was reading Livi &B this week and followed Donna's link to this post:

How the Kids & the Neighbor-Next-Door Might Really Become Christians?

So many points made really hit home with me. It is worth reading, even if you don't have kids. Here are just a few lines that made me sit and think:

Doesn't anyone take the witness stand for the God who laid it all down? Have we not seen? Heard? Touched? Why shrink away? Why lie about it?

And maybe the answer is that, whether we realize it or not, every moment is our testimony before a world who has Christ on trial.

I pray my hands are a better witness than my words.

In my prayers I thank God all the time for his patience with me. It is comforting knowing we serve a loving God who loves us despite our flaws.

God is patient with us, and I think we have to be patient with Him, in that He doesn't always answer my prayers immediately, or in the way that I think He should, but when I try to do His will for me, it always turns out better than I had planned! Love your blog, I'm so glad you stopped by Little Blue Deer so I could find you! Of course I'm following, and cannot wait to see more!

How beautifully written, so honest. If you did nothing else in your life this post serves as a testament to your heart. It was well received by me, and will be to others who are led to read it.

I am late reading this post, but it is so beautifully worded and the scentiment resonated so strongly with me I had to comment.
I know I can do better at living out my love for Christ in a way that all may recognize HIM in me.
Thank you! I needed this nudge today! I really enjoy your blog, too!

Marianne, just as I was so enjoying your posts about decor, design and all things pretty, I found this post. Wow. Thank you for allowing God to use you to point me to this, today. It's more beautiful than all the colors, fabrics and killer pieces combined. xo Lidy

Thank you for your honesty. Where would we be without God's grace, so undeserved by us but so bountiful from him? Praise him he prefers mercy over judgment!
