My Colors Are Blush And Bashful

Shelby: "My colors are blush and bashful".
M''Lynn: "Her colors are pink and pink."
Shelby: "My colors are blush and bashful Momma."
M'Lynn: "How pretentious is this wedding to going to get I ask you?"
Shelby: "My colors are blush and bashful, I have chosen two shades of pink, one is much deeper than the other."

I don't know if it was a wedding this past weekend, or talking about color a lot, or the fact that today is my best friends birthday and I can hear her reciting Steel Maganolias in mind as I type this but this quote has been in my head. So I thought it was only fitting to have a pink day since it is not a color I do that much...Image Here.

I had to throw in a blue one for the birthday girl, Happy Birthday Dew!

If you have not seen Steel Magnolias you really must.

You score big points with me with the Steel Magnolias reference. I needed a laugh this morning. Great post!

Possibly one of the greatest movies ever (Dolly Parton is one of my favorites)! You hit one of the best quotes - others include:

"Honey, time marches on and eventually you realize it is marchin' across your face"

"There's so much static electricity in this room, I pick up everything but boys and money"

"[He's] so confused he don't know whether to scratch his watch or wind his butt."

(By the way, great pictures, I love the pink wardrobe!).

I'm with everyone else ... "Steel Magnolias" is probably one of the most perfect and well-cast movies of all time! Every single time I watch it I laugh, I cry, I call my mom and my sisters and tell them how much I love them ... Love it! (And all of your pretty pink pics.)

I absolutely go crazy for steel magnolia references. It is one of my all-time favourite movie. I've been trying to find it at blockbuster to buy but everytime i go in it's sold out.

Great blog post!! The rooms are very inspiring.

Sadly I have not seen all of Steel Magnolias. I am not that fond of sad movies, but know I am missing a classic.
Love the pics of the pinks and the blue.

You know the whole "decorate with colors you wear thing?" I love rose-pink--it's my favorite color to wear-- and yet I will NEVER use it in my home because pink inside makes me crazy and jittery. Cute post!

Funny, I was just quoting that part the other day. . . I am definitely clipping that pink armoire. How cute is that big painted piece in a kid's room? Fun pictures.

That movie screams my mother and her friends... I can name each one and their alter ego! (And as I get older, me and my friends. LOL)

Thanks for sharing this classic!

I love it! And I love that movie.

I got to see Truvy's Beauty Shop when we were in Natchitoches visiting my sister several years ago. It was such a cute area.

BEAUTIFUL, lovely home. You're a gifted decorator!

But the quote is, "How PRECIOUS...", not "How pretentious."

It is essential to stay abreast of the oldest movie quotations ;)
