Finding New Inspiration

I hope everyone is having a wonderful 2010 so far. I have thought long and hard about resolutions and I am keeping mine short, but not so simple for me. I am going to try to live in the moment- really focus on the present, to continue to work hard and grow my business but keep my life more balanced and continue to grow my faith. I saw this in Square Books in Oxford on New Years Day and I thought it was a great thing to read to start out the new year....
And for a little house inspiration.......
How great is the red against the black and white? This house designed by Steven Grambrel has so many ideas I am saving to use.
Did you notice the walls and floor above?
Love this kitchen, the dark windows, the benches, the floors, the hood, the backsplash....
Yep, I wouldn't mind my days starting in that shower.
I am still planning on doing my dining room in a high gloss, hopefully in January.
I know, I know....
All home images Elle Decor.

Love the piece by Nadine Stair - what a great sentiment! And, the red frames on the walls are fabulous. I love being surrounded by family photos and that would such a chic way to do it.

My parents have the prettiest living room with high gloss and several layers of green paint that give the walls texture. I will try to find a pic. As a decorator, you would love it! Happy 2010! You have great resolutions.

Love these!...and thanks for the comment about Dwell Studio for Target's nursery stuff...it made me take a second look and that's what I ended up getting!

Loooove that bathroom.

You better hire someone to skim coat your walls before you paint them high gloss, unless you lucked out with an old house with smooth walls:)

I did a semi-gloss in our old bathroom. It was a dark raisin color. I cried. It showed every bulge, every nail head, every microscopic scratch. We had to do a do over.

LOVE that kitchen and wall especially! And your new years resolution. I was a bit cheeky in my post today but I too am going to really try to make the most of each moment. Sad that we have to sometimes remind ourselves to do that!!

Love this space, love your resolution more :) Awhile back I saw a bumper sticker that resonated with me, "BE HERE NOW". I remind and repeat this to myself every time I feel like I'm losing the concept. As simple as it might sound, it does the trick. :) Happy New Year. xo

That kitchen was another highlight from this months Elle Decor, my fiancee channeling his inner "gay best friend" even commented on how fly it was. Happy New Year!
