Quiet Time- You Can't Always Get What You Want But......

"You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You get what you need"- Rolling StonesWhat does a song by the Rolling Stones have to do with God? Well, that song popped in my mind when I read this in an e-mail:

God only gives three answers to prayer:
1. Yes!
2. Not Yet.

3. I Have Something Better In Mind.

I find that usually I get the second or third answer. While I do get impatient, looking back on the path that my life has taken so far I can clearly see God's plan at work. I need to be reminded of this more than I care to admit. It is easy to get frustrated sometimes when God's plan doesn't seem in sync with yours, but hold on to your faith and trust in what God has planned for you.

Very true words, indeed.

I just found your blog, and am so glad that I did. It's lovely.

Wonderful post. Knowing that God is always attentive and working is sometimes difficult to remember when we are waiting for answered prayers, or as you said, not the answer we desired. But, oh how wonderful it is when we finally realize down the road that His plan was so much better than we had imaged.

Crazy...my pastor just said these 3 answers to prayer this weekend and it really resonated with me. He must be reminding me again by you posting this on your blog:) I've had a lot of "not yet's" this past year and the wait can be very frustrating but I'm trusting that something better is in the works. I know that His timing is perfect and He's got a perfect plan for my life, I just wish I knew what it was sometimes:)

Hope you had a great Christmas!

Yes! His promises that He is sovereign over all things, that He is the Author and Finisher, and that He loves me and is working EVERYTHING for my good are always answers I can rest in along the way! Praise Him!
