Continuity Is The Key

When looking for orange rooms I came across this house and instantly was drawn to it. While the initial magnetism was my love of the kitchen, I quickly noticed something else.
The house had a flow, in this situation the color orange. A color carried throughout a house is a great way to create a continuity in the space, but it should be done in moderation. This house is a great example of a bright, eye catching color used in restraint, resulting in an amazing house.
With a bold color just a little goes a long way...
I saved the best for last. Isn't this nook something out of your dreams? Placed in a stairwell, this day bed makes for the most inviting space....Love the tables, pillows, prints...

Nice pictures,

A few weeks ago I did a post about "Accents of Orange". It is a colour that can be used in winter as in summertime!
I love it a lot! But indeed , always use it in moderation!
Here in that house it is well-done!

Hmm, I really like this idea of one color throughout the whole house. It seems my wall color of gray was that, but now I'm thinking about using another pop of color...

I really like how they incorporate dashes of orange throughout. Too much orange and it looks like a bad trip back to the 70s! Funny, orange is my two-year-old's favorite color, so I'm partial to it these days!

That house is gorgeous. I love the orange accents and the way the color ties it all together. I wouldn't mind living in this space! I love the two adirondack chairs outdoors. I could spend so many fall days curled up in a blanket, sipping on tea and reading! :)

Lovely images! And I totally agree with you about restraint. I used to love big swaths of bright colors, but my tastes have finally grown up, and now I really love pops of color, instead. Now, I have to paint over my tangerine-colored living room (no, I'm not kidding, the walls are tangerine! :-)!)

I'm not a huge fan or orange, but I do like how touches of the color continued throughout the house.

I see that 'orange' was a popular post this week. My post was inspired by an orange wall in a cute little cafe in the hotel were I stayed last weekend. I remember the 70s so I tend to resist any thought of using orange as a decorating color, but it seems to be fresher the second time around. I enjoyed your room.
