Quiet Time- Money, Wealth, Riches

Image HERE
Today instead of going to church we watched this MESSAGE called questions about finances. It was something we needed to hear. Money rules our lives a lot more than it should. Either we are spending too much, worried about paying back school debt, not saving enough or constantly wanting more. The thing about wanting more is that you will never be satisfied. I am not saying that spending is evil, it is when it controls you that there is a problem. I love to shop, I work in an industry that always has me wanting something new, so this is something I struggle with all the time. So today I thought I would post some messages on money:

"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have."
-Hebrews 13:5

"Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless."
-Ecclesiastes 5:10

"Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life."
-1 Timothy 6:17-19
"Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint. Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle."-Proverbs 23:4-5

**I you ever want to hear great sermons that are a little different from the very traditional churches you should visit HERE. Pastor Chris really gets messages across in ways we have not found other places. I am not saying don't go to church or that there is anything wrong with traditional churches, I just know that people get to God through different ways, not all of them in the 4 walls of a church.

Definitely something that I should pray more about. Our finances- well, they aren't ours. It all belongs to God. Thanks for a great post--- a much needed reminder for me! xx- b

Love the post today. It is so easy to get caught up in the culture of wanting more, rather than finding joy and blessings in each day.

What a great post! I think we often forget about the most important things in life and there are times when you have to sit back and be thankful and happy with what you have. Thanks so much for reminding me!
