Reader Help Needed- Which Magazine?

Hello wonderful blog readers, I need your vote. I am sick of the magazines I am currently receiving and I think I need to shake it up some. I am debating between:

OR
Let me know what you think, both the good and the bad!

PS- I finally got my follower button up and I just wanted to say a big thank you to H&H followers, you don't know how much it means to me!

'Real Simple'! I love this magizine. It touches more areas of your everyday life (i think) then 'Living'

Real Simple fo sho! It will change your life, trust me. I love the mag, my roomie's got it in DC and I ended up reading all the back issues. Plus we get it at the office and all my coworkers seem to like it as much as I do. I can actually give you a down side to Living, but it would take too long, so I'll tell you later. Oh, and a BIG TEXAS THANK YOU! ;)

I have to agree...Real Simple! Love it!

I recommend Martha Stewart Living! The pictures are always beautiful and although I have subscribed to Real Simple in the past, it seems that everything in the magazine is online.

I used to receive both- and let my Real Simple run out... but I am a fan of both. So I'm no help!

I LOVE Real Simple....I am always happy to buy it and learn so much from it...about organization, healthy eating, just living...it's great. Plus, go to MarthaStewart.com....there is so much online so you don't need the mag so much!

I'm currently taking Real Simple. I think both are great, but I like to rotate subscriptions. It seems like they repeat themselves some. And I tend to get a little stressed if I get behind on my mag reading, so I've tried to simplify with just one or two at a time. Let us know what you decide.

I always go back and forth with these two -- they're both great, for different reasons. I usually go with the cheapest subscription, and then buy the really great issues of the other one off the newsstand.

BUT there is a new service where you can switch your subs from month to month: http://www.maghound.com/

i vote real simple because i've always gotten really good ideas on all sorts of things from the mag (but i may not be the best opinion since martha and i are not the best of friends).

I vote Martha, it was the first magazine I ever got...I think I was like 15 or so- yes I was even obsessed then :)

I vote for Real Simple--it is actually one of the only magazines I subscribe too and it is always just a breath of fresh air and I can't get enough of all their wonderful styling.

I like Real Simple too! They have great articles on where to shop, how to save money, new recipies to try, etc. It's a great mag.

Personally, I'm partial to Martha's mag - I love all the ideas every month.

Oh I don't get either, but I so need to sign up for them so I vote for get both!!!!

I tallied up a couple of weeks what all my subscriptions would cost me if I did it all at once and it was over $200. Craziness at the moment, but it is better than buying them at the bookstore.

At the moment I go to my local library and read up there on the mags I don't receive at home.

Real Simple is one of my subscriptions that I won't let lapse. Although I enjoy MS Living I no longer subscribe and have found I don't miss it.

I used to subscribe to Real Simple when it WAS real simple...without all the ads and clutter. Then when Martha Stewart started having legal troubles, Living lost some ads. Real Simple became the new venue for those lost ads and IMO ended up choking Real Simple. So I began to read Living and now love it. It still has fewer ads and unique ideas, and I enjoy the variety on MS website.

Make that:

It still has fewer ads and *definitely contains* unique ideas...

I vote Real Simple. I am not currently receiving the issue, but did last year. They now reside on my bookshelf, which is very cute, and I love re-reading them!

I love them both but if I had to choose I would choose Real Simple for the more diverse material.

I like the basic info available on Real Simple---always good, basic info, but I LOVE a good Martha Stewart project. I think Martha is a bit more creative, but RS is full of more solid info (so I guess it depends on what you want more out of your mag!). I vote both!

Becky BH hit the nail on th periodical head. Real Simple is choked with ads, over 60% & as simple as it claims to be $120.00 face cream or the $435 blouse is way too complicated for me. They've started to adjust to the economy down turn but we'll see how long that lasts.
Marthas still awesome but the ones I can't without are House Beautiful. Saveur and Body & Soul..another MSLO mag but its wonderful!!!!! B&S is not new age its feel goody...

Hi...just found your blog today! Going to be fun to continue to follow! I have a magazine dilemma as well..frankly without Domino or Cottage Living these days, I've not found anything remotely close to being as great! I would vote for Real Simple or Martha because while everything Martha does is beautiful, anything I try to re-create from there does not look anything like the pictures!! The recipes are quite challenging too. Keep it Simple!
