The Pair That Didn't Get Away

Those of you who have been reading H&H for a while have seen these, but I am in a hurry so I had to make this pretty quick. These (before) pictures are chairs that once belonged to my Great Grandmother and have been passed down through the generations to me. I LOVE them. I would probably not buy them if I saw them, but I am very attached to these. When we first moved in (hence the mess) they are one of the first things I tackled. Trust me picking a fabric was not easy and if you look closely in the picture below you can see some of the choices. Here they are after. (For now since knowing me they will change MANY times throughout my lifetime) I covered them in Fabricut Bertrand. I decided to go with something monotone, although close up the background is several colors. I also went with a raised velvet pattern, I love velvet, I could upholster things in it all day.
Different view, there are 2 of them that face each other.
The back is currently a Gray velvet but that changes all the time too. I wanted to put something CRAZY on the back but haven't found exactly what I am looking for.Yes, that is the same room as in the second picture, I do not miss moving. What do you have that you love and will never part with?

Fabric: Fabricut Bertrand Color: 03
Pillow: Pablo Mekis
Back Fabric: (similiar) Pindler Velluto-Graphite
*All of these are "to the trade" but if you are ever interested in trade goods please e-mail me for information or pricing.

The chairs look great. I have a rocker that was my great grandmothers. Doesn't fit with my home at all, but I still love it dearly. What I really love is that mirror though, wow.

I dont think I have ever seen a view of your room like that, I LOVE it!! Beautiful beautiful family room, and I love that you wont part with the chair because it was your grandmothers. There are so many things in my house I would not give up from my lamps, to old family pictures, to my grandmas artwork...the list goes on and on.

um, you living room is so cute! you've been holding out on us!

I have a pair of louis XV-looking chairs that were my great-grandmother's. they were mass-produced and aren't antique or anything, but I LOVE them. especially now that the icky neon yellow upholstery is gone.

Oh, how adorable! I've been looking for a pair of chairs to recover for a few weeks now. No luck though.

I love the fabric!

I have an old teak bench that I have re purposed many times (bench, coffee table ect...) and I don't think I could ever part with it.

Marianne, they look great! Your house is beautiful! I am in love with the mirror you have above your sofa and your coffee table. Where are they from?

I have a pair of art deco looking chairs from my Great-Grandmother that I will never part with. At least, not willingly. Marianne, I have an idea for the back of your chairs, but it will involve sewing and may be a bit too wild.

They turned out fantastic!!

Speaking of fantastic things, your coffee table has me drooling. Where did you find it? (We're currently on the hunt and that looks like it could work perfectly.)

Thank you everyone for all your comments. I appreciate them so much! The mirror was a birthday present from my husband. It is from Bobo- http://www.bobointriguingobjects.com/
The coffee table was custom made by a local guy who makes iron items for me. I have seen some similiar though. When I get back in town I will do some research.

Alathia- I can't wait to hear your ideas. I have not forgotten about you, going to Atlanta made my week crazy!

Apparently I love more than I knew I did. We are packing tonight and Bryan keeps holding up things to go in the "store at the parents house" pile and I keep pleading..."no I NEED that"
