Please Come In....

Maybe it was painting my door, or working with a client on her front door color, but I have been thinking about the entrance to your home.
It should really say something about you and draw people in....
Whether by color, or landscaping, or great lighting...
To be honest with you though, all I really want is an old, salvaged door from a place like this one....
Old doors just have so much more character than the ones you find today....
I am drooling on my computer over these doors....
Unfortunately, at this rate I will have to wait many, many years to have one or two....maybe even decades (since the special sizes require more work than you originally think) Yikes!

we must be on the same page today because I was looking at doors too. I mean I don't even have a house or a place to put an antique door, but I just love them so much. I would love to use some indoors, kind of like a barn door on tracks on the ceiling. Maybe into a playroom or something so when we kids we can put them in the playroom and have adult time in the other room. Ah, well now I'm dreaming.

Those old doors are beautiful. I agree with you that a front door should make a statement. I don't have a large stoop, but I was able to get a wow facture, but painting my door a glossy black. It really stands out on my street.

I love old doors and would love to fit in a sliding barn door in my house somehow. currenlty i am wanting to find some old carriage house doors for my detached garage. my house was built in the '40's and i think they would go perfectly with the house!
