While going through some old magazines I came across a 2007 Midwest Living I hadn't read. This showhouse, the Stonelake Idea Home from the September/October 2007 issue, is attractive to me because it is simple, but well done. Nothing is over the top, but it looks very put together.

I am always a sucker for a lantern.
great images. I just love picking up some of my old issues.
ReplyDeletenever thought i would say that but i just love the milk chocolate color on the walls in the first picture!xxx
ReplyDeleteLove that breakfast bar!
ReplyDeleteLove the giant flag!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!! I love finding magazines that I have never read around the house! hope you have a great week! = )
ReplyDeletedeer head, I'm on it
ReplyDeleteI tried to explain to a group in Cambridge last night my whole deer head thing. I told them it was chic, they did not buy it:)
I love lanterns too. Great pics

ReplyDeleteNice house...
ReplyDeleteI love the kitchen with its red brick walls.
Thanks for sharing:)
I LOVE that kitchen... It is so so beautiful! Thanks for sharing these photos. You are right in that the simplicity behind this design is exactly right for the house. Nothing too extravagant nor over the top, but just right. :)
ReplyDeleteReally love that kitchen. Must show that one to my husband.
ReplyDeleteI love the wood stacked by the fireplace, too, and love going through my old magazines - just can't seem to ever give them up! You know, there is just a certain population of us out there who do this - others cannot imagine why I would hold on to so many magazines, especially when we move!
ReplyDeleteThat house is great - of course, love that kitchen! And I even like the buck's head in the bedroom. Not sure why, I just do. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I LOVE that home. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love this post! The living/family room is probably my favorite but the wood next to the fire place is pretty cool as well! Great find, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm a sucker for a lantern, too!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! That's why I hesitate in throwing any magazines away.
ReplyDeleteLove that Ralph Lauren feeling wall of wood, go big or go home, that is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love lanterns as well!
I LOVE the round dining room table..I Wish i had a big sqare dining room that would hold one...Something so cozy about them..
ReplyDeleteAlso, i have a question..I am about to paint my master bedroom and I am looking for a great creamy/white color..one that has warm undertones..any suggestions!!
Great find! Midwest Living.. who knew?
ReplyDeleteVery livable, I could see myself here
ReplyDeletei love this house! especially the last two images.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I am dying to paybe paint my bedroom brown!
ReplyDeletePretty spread :) I love the living room - looks so relaxing.
ReplyDeleteThe brick in that kitchen works so well with this style. It's one reason I still love seeing into the homes of Boston; so many include that touch that is not seen too often.
ReplyDeletegreat pictures! I love the cool cubby for the firewood.
ReplyDeleteI'm very taken with the round dining table Marianne. I've always had to opt for a long rectangle because of our 5 kids & all their mates, but I've secretly yearned for something just like this - small & intimate.
ReplyDeleteThey are always the best find! Its also good to see how your taste changes and evolves! x
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the color palette in that first room--it is so warm.
ReplyDeleteI love either discovering old issues that are new to me or just looking through old issues in general. That lantern is gorgeous, and I love the wall of wood as well.
